Marysville Memo
October 2023
Message from Admin
Dear MPS School Families,
We hope this message finds you all in good health and high spirits as we welcome the beautiful month of October. It's been an incredible journey to see our students adapt and grow in the first few weeks of the school year, and we want to express our gratitude and thanks to all of you for your support and partnership.
A big thank you to our amazing MPS staff for hosting our annual Fall Open House. It is wonderful having parents and families into the school to see firsthand the amazing things that are happening at MPS!
We value the active involvement of parents in our school community. If you are interested in volunteering or participating in the School Advisory Council (SAC), please reach out to the school and we can share how you can get involved.
Thank you for entrusting us with the education and growth of your children. Together, we will continue to create a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where every child can thrive.
Wishing you all a fantastic October filled with learning, laughter, and lasting memories.
Your partners in education,
Mrs. MacDonald, Mr. Wood, Ms. Barrett and the MPS Team
SCHOOL-DAY: Online Permissions & Payments
Don't miss out! Sign up today!
Marysville P.S.will be using School-Day: Permissions & Payments for all field trips, sporting events, fundraising and hot lunches. Families will be able to complete permission forms and payments from any web browser using their SmartPhone, tablet, laptop or desktop.
The easy-to-use portal will remove the risks associated with sending money to school with students, the frustration of lost or missing permission forms, and significantly reduce the amount of paper our school consumes.
An introduction letter was sent home with your child the first week of school.
Please follow the instructions to sign up for a School-Day account at www.school-day.com and connect to your child’s events and activities.
If we can be of help, please don't hesitate to contact the school.
TERRY FOX RUN
We had a beautiful day for our Terry Fox Run. Thank you to our parents that came to support and run or walk with us. We are so proud of the hard work that everyone puts in to learn about and remember Terry Fox, and run/walk and fundraise, that each student was provided with a 2023 Terry Fox Run t-shirt.
Well done, Marysville, for raising $465 in honour of Terry Fox!
We continue to accept donations on our school fundraising page at https://schools.terryfox.ca/MarysvillePSWolfeIsland

Why Use the SchoolMessenger App?
When you join SchoolMessenger, you will be able to:
- receive important information from LDSB
- join classrooms and extra-curricular groups
- report a student's absence (same day and in advance)
Reporting A Student's Absence:
If your student is marked absent and the absence hasn’t been reported in advance, our new SafeArrival system will attempt to reach the student’s priority contact by telephone to confirm the absence. If our system is unable to reach the designated contacts, school office staff will follow up.
