Marysville Memo
November 2021
Principal's Message
Happy November everyone!
We'd like to extend a warm welcome to M. Papineau, our new French teacher! Monsieur comes with tons of energy, a love of teaching and is excited to be teaching at Marysville.
Every time I visit our school, I'm amazed at your children and our staff. The opportunities that have been provided while still working under COVID protocols have gone above and beyond - first place at the Fall Fair, tree planting, hot lunch sponsored by our School Advisory Council, fundraising, it's truly wonderful to see.
Hopefully you've noticed our yard lately - we received a "curbside appeal" grant from LDSB where they paved the bus path, repaved the play area and painted some games. We're supposed to have some mulch brought in and some trees are going in soon also.
Our school will be participating in the W.I. Remembrance Day service. It's so important that our students help represent their community in these very important events. So many thanks to the community who invites us in.
November is Indigenous Education month. We're excitedly awaiting our 35 Indigenous Book collection that will soon be available at the Wolfe Island branch of the Kingston, Frontenac Public Library. The collection, for both kids and adults, were purchased by our Marysville School Advisory Council with the support of a Limestone DSB PRO Grant. Niá:wen to our Marysville SAC.
All the best to you,
Mrs. Diamond
