Marysville Memo
February 2023
A message from Mrs Diamond
I wanted to let you know that I will be moving schools, effective February 6th. Mr Wood will continue to stay on as vice principal and be the lead administrator for our beautiful little school. I'd like to welcome Ms Rebecca MacDonald, who will be principal of Marysville, Central and Sydenham Public Schools.
This is such a special place with a wonderful community, amazing kids and tremendous staff. Thank you for letting me be a part of it.
All the best to you,
Mrs Diamond, principal
STUDENT ILLNESS & MASKING
Staff and students should stay home when sick.
In addition, for a total of 10-days after the start of any illness symptom, or positive Rapid Antigen Test, students and staff are expected to wear a well-fitted mask in all public settings (including schools and childcare, unless under two years old) and avoid non-essential activities where mask removal is necessary.
KFL&A Public Health continues to encourage people to mask in indoor, congregate settings like schools. We continue to work very closely with KFL&A Public Health as it relates to health and safety, and absences due to illness. KFL&A Public Health has created a helpful resource for school and childcare screening for families to use. If COVID-19 protocols change, they will be communicated directly with families and updated on Limestone’s COVID-19 Protocol Update webpage.
FEBRUARY HOT LUNCHES
February 8 - tacos
February 15 - NO HOT LUNCH

SKATING!
Helmets are mandatory when skating with the school.
Parents are welcome to join us. Extra hands to help tie skates is always appreciated!
SCHOOL-DAY Permissions & Payments!
Marysville P.S. is transitioning to a new secure portal to complete permission forms and payments online.
With School-Day: Permissions & Payments, you will be able to complete permission forms and payments from any web browser using your SmartPhone, tablet, laptop or desktop.
Through this new online portal, you will be able to pay for items such as:
· Field trips
· Sporting events
· Hot lunch (where applicable)
The new easy-to-use portal will remove the risks associated with sending money to school with students, the frustration of lost or missing permission forms, and significantly reduce the amount of paper our school consumes.
A School-Day Introduction Letter went home with your child the week of January 9.
Follow the instructions to sign up for a School-Day account at www.school-day.com and connect to your child’s events and activities.
With your support, we look forward to a successful implementation of this practical application!

GRADE 5-8 CLASS
Family Circle Project
Ms. E's class has been working on a Family Circle Project as part of their Social Studies and History units to prepare for the Kingston Heritage Fair. Students created a family circle visual for those around them who represent their very own definition of family. Students wrote about who was in their circle and why they included that person. Students had the choice to create a poster or complete it on the computer.
