Marysville Memo
January 2021
DEAR MPS FAMILIES
If we learned anything in 2020, it is that life can send us unexpected events. It's times like these that help us focus on what is important - being grateful for the people and things in our lives, and knowing that we are stronger and braver than we thought we were.
We thank our families for your support of learning at home. We appreciate your commitment and perseverance! We know this can be challenging and we are here to support you the best that we can. Students will continue to participate in both synchronous (live) and asynchronous (independent) learning activities. Your child's teacher will have provided you with a schedule so that you are aware of when the synchronous learning activities will take place. If you or your child are having any challenges, please reach out to the classroom teachers or contact the school office. It is helpful for us to know how things are working (or not working) for students and families and we appreciate your feedback.

INDIGENOUS WORKSHOP
FAMILY LITERACY DAY - JANUARY 27
Family Literacy Day takes place every January 27th to raise awareness about the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy-related activities as a family. Taking time every day to read or do a learning activity with children is crucial to a child’s development and improving a child’s literacy skills.
Family Literacy Day 2021 Theme: Travel the World Together!
Families may be restricted on their travel these days, but that doesn't prevent anyone from using their imagination to go exploring and travel the world together as a family – you never know what you’ll learn! Plan your dream trip, learn about another culture and open your mind to the world.
