Welcome Back Message from Director Burra
Principal's Message
We are almost there! We hope our families have had a wonderful summer, and that you were able to get lots of play time in and lots of time to spend with friends and family! We'd like to express our tremendous gratitude to Danielle, our custodian for the last year for all the TLC she gave our school and wish her luck on her new position. We'd also like to welcome two new staff, Mr. McEneany, who will be teaching both classes and Mlle Scott who will be our new French teacher. It is also our delight to welcome back Mr. Beers!

School Supplies
Agendas will be provided and we ask that families check and initial them each night.
Please bring a pair of indoor shoes, preferably running shoes, as they will be needed for going to the gym as well as when indoors. For younger students, ones that they can easily put on and take off themselves, e.g. Velcro or slip on, are a good idea.
Please also bring a reuseable water bottle (labelled with child's name) as the water fountains are set up as filling stations only.
Depending on the season, and your child's needs, an extra change of clothes is recommended, just in case.
Labelling all student belongings is very helpful!
Upcoming Dates:
Sept 16 - Kingston Fall Fair
Sept 23 - Terry Fox Run
Sept 26 - PA Day
Sept 30 - Orange Shirt Day
Oct 4 - School picture day
UPDATE to Daily Screening Tool
As you may know, the Ministry of Health and the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health has announced updates to the School and Child Care Screening Tool and Management of Cases and Contacts of COVID-19. The following is a summary of the updated guidelines:
- Students, staff, and visitors need to continue to self-screen each school day.
- Students should stay home when sick. Anyone who is feeling sick or has any new or worsening symptoms of illness (including COVID-19 symptoms) should stay home, until:
- their symptoms have been improving for at least 24 hours (or 48 hours for nausea, vomiting, and/or diarrhea), and
- they do not have a fever, and
- they do not develop any additional symptoms.
- For a total of 10 days after the start any illness symptom, students and staff should continue to wear a well-fitted mask in all public settings (including schools and childcare, unless under two years old) and avoid non-essential activities where mask removal is necessary.
- Asymptomatic individuals with a positive COVID-19 test result do not need to stay home unless symptoms develop. If any symptoms develop, they should stay home and follow the recommended guidelines above.
- Individuals attending school who are immunocompromised who are feeling sick, or have a positive test, should still stay home for 10 days from the start of any symptom or positive COVID result, whichever came first.
